Peter leads the Parodi & de Laveaga team with over 35 years of tax, accounting, and financial planning experience. Peter's experience includes seven years in banking, serving as branch manager and other branch positions for two major banks. Prior to forming his current partnership with Ray Parodi in 1999, Peter spent five years with the then "Big 6" accounting firm Ernst & Young (EY) specializing in the area of individual financial and tax planning. Peter is a sought-after speaker, leading financial planning workshops around the country for EY and other groups several times each year (when it is not tax season!)

Peter earned his BA degree in Economics in 1988 from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA degree in 1994 from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.

Peter was born and raised in nearby Orinda. The de Laveaga family was involved in the development of the small city in the late 1800s and early-mid 1900s. Peter is devoted to his family and has successfully raised two sons. Peter was a lifelong contributor to his church community in Berkeley before moving to Lafyette, and can be spotted at Berkeley Country Club playing golf or catching a Giants game in San Francisco.

Peter is a member of both the California Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

As senior (i.e., semi-retired) partner of our firm, Ray has over fifty years of diversified tax and accounting experience. Ray served as an internal auditor for a major insurance carrier, spent eight years with then "Big 8" accounting firm Peat Marwick International (now known as KPMG), served two years as Chief Financial Officer for an insurance and financial services holding company and founded his own CPA firm in 1976. When Ray's prior partner retired in early 1999, Ray began a new partnership with Peter, whom he has known for thirty-five years.

Ray is a native of San Francisco and attended the University of San Francisco where for three years he was a member of their nationally ranked soccer team. He received his BS degree in 1964 with a major in accounting.

Ray continues to be involved in numerous University of San Francisco alumni projects and he enjoys staying in shape by bicycling regularly and keeping up with his six grandchildren. He and his wife now live in nearby Orinda.

Cindy has over twenty years of accounting experience in the areas of tax, audit, and financial planning. Prior to joining our firm in 1999, Cindy worked for four years with then "Big 6" accounting firm Ernst & Young. Cindy's emphasis is on tax planning for high net worth individuals and stock option planning.

Cindy received her BS degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and finance from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley in 1995.

Transplanted from Southern California, Cindy has called the Bay Area home since 1991. She and her husband currently reside in the East Bay with their son and daughter. Cindy enjoys a variety of interests outside of accounting which include ice skating, crafting, and trying new dessert recipes.

Cindy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Karen has over twenty years of accounting experience. Prior to joining our firm in 2001, Karen spent seven years with then "Big 6" accounting firm KPMG as an auditor and business advisor to a variety of clients – from large established institutions to start-up companies. She then spent a few years as a Director of Finance for a publicly traded biotechnology firm.

Karen received her BS degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and finance from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley in 1992.

Raised in Southern California, Karen has been in the Bay Area since her undergraduate studies. She and her husband currently live in the East Bay. They are active in their church and enjoy parenthood with their two children.

Kathy has over twenty years of accounting experience. Prior to re-joining our firm in 2009, Kathy spent four years with then "Big 6" accounting firm KPMG working on both audit and tax engagements. She then held Accounting Manager and Controller positions in both public and private companies in financial services, telecommunications, and the wine industries.

Kathy received her BS degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and finance from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley in 1992.

Kathy grew up in San Francisco and enjoys all the Bay Area has to offer. She and her husband currently reside in the East Bay with their two children. Whenever possible, Kathy enjoys a good cup of coffee in the company of good friends and taking neighborhood strolls with her family.

Tammy has been keeping all the CPAs administratively in line for more than 10 years. With 15 years of prior experience running a child care center, she is very well-suited for the job. She takes great care of staff and clients alike.

She and her husband Scott raised two kids in the East Bay and are now happily enjoying the beginnings of the empty nest years. They enjoy bicycling, volunteering at their church, and vacationing. With two grandchildren, Tammy’s favorite title is “Grandma”.
